The Project
Tacos Calafia started in 2016 as a single food truck in Peoria. Founder Adolfo Torres grew up working weekends at his parents’ taqueria in Tijuana, and he brought that tradition—and the family’s secret marinade and salsa recipes—to Arizona with his father and siblings. The tacos did the rest: Phoenix Magazine named them Best Tacos in the Valley, and Phoenix New Times gave them Best Al Pastor. By the time we started working together in 2020, the truck had become a brick-and-mortar business with more locations on the way. The job was a website that could keep up.
One Site, Eight Front Doors
Someone looking for tacos wants three things: where, when, and how to order. The site answers all three for every location on a single page—address, hours, and a direct link into that store’s online ordering. Behind the “Order Online” button, not every store runs the same system: six take orders through Clover and two through E-Tab. Guests never have to know. They pick a location and land in the right place.
Built to Grow
Since 2020, Tacos Calafia has kept opening: Surprise, Tolleson, Downtown Phoenix, North Phoenix, Ahwatukee, Tempe, Gilbert. Each opening becomes a new block on the page—hours, ordering, gift cards, and details like breakfast service at Peoria—with no redesign required. We host the site and handle every update, so a new location is live when the doors open, not weeks later.
Video That Sets the Table
The homepage opens on a video we produced for the brand, playing behind the headline so visitors see the food before they read a word. For a restaurant, that first impression does more selling than any copy.
Catering That Arrives as a Real Lead
Catering is a different sale: taqueros cooking on-site, al pastor turning on the trompo at a wedding or a corporate lunch. The catering page’s inquiry form captures what the team needs to quote—event date and time, guest count, and address—so every request arrives ready for a callback instead of a round of back-and-forth.
What’s Next
Tacos Calafia has outgrown the site we built when they had a fraction of today’s locations. We’re now designing an entirely new one for the brand they’ve become.
The Result
A family business that went from one food truck to eight restaurants has had one reliable place online the whole way. The tacos are the Torres family’s. We just make sure everyone can find them.
