The Challenge

Seeing Machines is the world’s leading developer of AI-powered driver and occupant monitoring systems — technology deployed across fleet, automotive, and aviation sectors with a mission of zero transport fatalities. As their product portfolio and global customer base grew, so did the complexity of training the people who sell, install, and support it. They needed more than a course library. They needed a complete learning infrastructure.

Custom Courseware Built to Standard

We built Seeing Machines’ training content from scratch using the Articulate 360 and the xAPI (Tin Can) protocol — the modern eLearning standard that enables granular tracking of learner activity across platforms and devices. Every course was authored to xAPI spec, ensuring full compatibility with their Learning Record Store and giving Seeing Machines durable, portable training assets they own outright.

A Role-Based Curriculum in LearnDash

We implemented and configured a LearnDash LMS to manage a complex, role-based curriculum — ensuring that the right training reaches the right people based on their role, product focus, or geography. Sales teams, technical installers, and support personnel each follow distinct learning paths, with prerequisites, progress tracking, and completion records managed automatically.

Learning Record Store Implementation

Beyond the LMS, we implemented a Learning Record Store (LRS) to capture and retain xAPI statements generated by learner activity. This gives Seeing Machines a persistent, queryable record of training completions and engagement — independent of any single platform — that supports compliance reporting and long-term learning analytics.

Knowledge Base

Alongside the formal training curriculum, we built and continue to host and manage a comprehensive knowledge base — a living reference layer that supports learners after coursework is complete and gives the broader organization a single source of operational truth.

The Result

Seeing Machines now has a fully integrated learning ecosystem: custom xAPI courseware, a role-based LMS, a persistent LRS, and a managed knowledge base — all hosted and maintained by Catalyst. It’s an end-to-end training strategy that scales with the business and operates without burdening their internal team.
